Industry Committee Releases Unbalanced Anti-Counterfeiting Report

The Standing Committee on Industry has issued a report on counterfeit goods. Titled Counterfeiting and Piracy are Theft, the report's recommendations - which do not even mention the word "balance" - address issues that range far beyond commercial copyright infringement, including the ratification of the WIPO Internet Treaties and the strengthening of civil remedies for copyright infringement. The government is required to respond to the report in the fall.
