CRIA Study Sheds Light on Canadians' Music Acquisition Habits
| March 20, 2006
A new Report quietly released by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) shows that the majority of music on Canadians' computers comes from music they've purchased - CDs and songs from download services - rather than through peer-to-peer services. Further, the survey shows that those Canadians who use P2P to obtain music tend to go on and purchase that music. And the age group who used P2P the most? Not the young adults targeted by CRIA's fall campaign, but the 35 to 44 age group. The study serves as part of CRIA's submission to the CRTC's Commercial Radio Review.
