CRTC orders VoIP providers to notify customers of 911 limtations

All local telephone service providers in Canada who use voice over internet protocol (VoIP) technology were ordered today to provide specific notification to their VoIP customers (current and prospective) regarding the availability, characteristics and limitations or their emergency 911 service. Service providers have 90 days to comply. They must then notify their customers of 911 limitations at least once a year.
